Minute Read

Let’s Make The Trek

This year flown by to fast to pause.

Finally the end near draws.

COVID impacted every holiday

We didn't visit family to reminisce and play.

We will brave the roads and risk COVID.

Let's visit some family to keep memories vivid.

Gather presents for all our loved ones,

Wrap them neatly and label them for all our special someones.

Pack the car and begin the winter's trek,

Our chariot van, for snow, didn't affect.

Make memories one day at a time,

Pause to sit and write them in rhyme.

Events That Build

Ice skating on a lake, a new experience,

But one we will never forget and cherish.

Thrift store finds as we try on, laughing.

Great finds bought our, expectations surpassing.

Let's take pictures and keep the memories,

The love a family shares stocked in eternal treasuries.

Prepare grand meal and feast at a large table,

Loosen belts and tell a tall fable.

Clean up pots and pans, bowls and dishes,

Time for children to open their Christmas wishes.

"I got this," ahh, "show me that."

All smiles, the pictures show last.

Events That Wreck

Grateful, we gathered, sharing our heats stock,

But there was one a little drunk who started to talk...

An Uncle expressed his hearts pain,

Through loose lips his voice was strained.

A nieces emotion roared and proud,

She made her opinions long and loud.

In a storm, bags packed and kids rallied.

Harsh words spears start impaling,

The Kids Need A Shield

Directed in the wrong direction,

Spears deflected with parents shield protecting.

"Let's play a game," and "Do you want some pie?"

Fingers in the air a niece leaves with last words reply,

"We won't come back," sad words , stale in air

Lingering as the niece leaves, still they are there.

Parents Want Harsh Words Expelled

Confused and quandering, parents speculate,

Open the windows and let the air circulate.

Communicate between all parties present.

A family, as different as we, reunite like magnets

While we may say things not intended,

A love for family should not be pretended.

Remember We Gathered For a Reason

When discord erupts, talk through the pain

To refresh relationships and remove the stain

Of harsh words viscous consequences.

May this help your family relationship strengthen.

Christ’s Birth Is The Season

Put a focus on the Savior and the Lords ultimate gift

Through him is provided the ultimate sift.

A sign has for us shown, a bright star

Shepherds and kings witnessed from afar

Today we have the beacon of light

As residue from the prophesied night.

Look to the light and live,

Accept his sacrifice and believe.

Develop the eternal relationship bond

Through sincere prayer and the covenant pond

Once you enter the gate to the path stay true.

An everlasting life with God is promised You
