The Heart of Your Home - The Nursery

The babies nursery is the epicenter of their lives for the first three months. They eat, sleep and play in this room.

We are going to discuss how to make that as comfortable as possible for you and the baby!!

Prepare Before the Baby Comes

You are having a baby and you need to put the essential furniture in the nursery (here are the essentials that we used). We have come up with some suggestions on where to put things to help ease the daily night life with your new baby.

There are a few things to consider when putting furniture in your babies nursery.

-1. The floor needs to be open and a clear path to the crib from the door and the chair for easy walking in the dark.

-2. The nursery should be away from the main living areas, especially the wall with the TV on it.

-3. Thinking about the sun and it’s extremes, cold days of winter and the hot days of summer, one suggestion is to put the nursery on the north east side of the house. The heater will heat the room in the winter and the sun won’t barrel on the wall and roof above during the summer.

Some Options For A Convenient Layout

We realize that not all rooms are the same but most rooms are in two different layouts, long or tall. This really depends on where the door and closet are. One suggestion not listed is to put the dresser in the closet if you have one.

Twins

We also recognize that not all families are the same. Some families are blessed with two or more babies at the same time. If you have twins, we have some suggestions for you.

Triplets!!

If you have triplets on the way...God Bless You!! We have come up with some more furniture placement for triplets but it gets tight:

The door and the crib to the left can switch in this positions if you have a tall layout or placement.

To Conclude

Any of these could be modified to your specific needs.

We hope this helps give you some visualization to get the placement layout right for your babies nursery room.

Don't forget; a new baby in a nursery will draw on a families purse strings. (check out our Nursery Rhymes or have a look at our "must have" and "optional must have" list here)
