What's A Ball For
Balls are used in our everyday lives. We have them in our homes, at work, in our cars. We use them on and off the field in many different sports. We even go to watch them get played with by professionals, or our kids.
This poem goes out to all the balls. You make our lives easier.
Balls For Everyone
I come in many different sizes, but my shape never changes.
A history of me can be found in books of many pages.
Whatever the material I am always round.
When you throw me, I bounce off the ground.
Perhaps you catch me and give me a toss.
I have even been known to get overlooked and lost.
In any game you play, I love to be the center of attention.
No one needs any other honorable mentions.
During game time, I get no dismissal.
I only stop when you hear the whistle.
You can make me fly with a hard kick.
You can hit me with a smooth stick.
You can pump me or I come with a hard or hollow core
I would not be a good prop at the door
I really only have one talent: to provide entertainment.
So as you participate and find in me enjoyment,
Bounce, kick, throw and hit me,
Just remember, you have to come get me.
