An open letter to a Huge Inspiration for me, Ed Mylett.

12/8/2020

Dear Ed,

Thank you so much for your Voice and projecting the good into the world that all of us need to hear. You and I have never met but I hope to meet you someday. Just to shake your hand (after COVID is over) and let you know in person that you helped me. I want to express my open sincerity in seeing you as my YouTube Mentor. Everything I have listened to or watched of yours, I have to take notes. I reference them again and really think about the message that you are driving.

Today, you put to words exactly how I have been feeling over the last month. Disenchanted with my work situation, I sought help online. I wanted to do something different. I found some awesome resources to help me start a Blog. Talk about the learning curve. I am still learning and have a long way to go. This was a separation moment for me.

In your post, you talked about only 1% will change anything after listening to your podcast/youtube video. That is a sad statistic that I hope is way under reality. Just recently I wrote a post about changing the future regardless of one’s past. In that post were these “New Thoughts,” to take a quote from your podcast, that drove me to write what I did.

Your post validated my desire to do something that I thought was way beyond me. Create a Blog. The hope is to help people, I have just found joy in doing it. A passion. I still work a day job but that hasn’t stopped me from staying up to 2 in the morning most days to finish a post. This has been a separation moment for me.

I recently fell in the snow and hurt my neck, I went to the doctor and he said I had to go to physical therapy. From that, I had to get in a regular habit of stretching. That regiment ended a few weeks ago but I felt so much better after stretching that I had to keep doing it every day. I started adding on other things to the stretches to “workout.” This was a separation moment for me.

Final point. In a recent podcast that you produced, you said, I’m paraphrasing, “100% of the people who never try, fail. 100% of the people you fail, tried” This was an additional kickstart for me. Are my blog posts good, I’m at level zero but they are improving. Everyday, I am separating from what I did yesterday, finding new ways to have a creative thought and do “one more” to make it better.

Sincere gratitude for your passion to help others.

A one percent-er,

Andrew Fernlund
